V. Srinivasan, husband of Indian Olympic Association President and Rajya Sabha MP P.T. Usha, died in the early hours of Friday (January 30, 2026), according to family sources. He was 64.

Srinivasan collapsed at his residence early this morning. Although he was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital, he could not be revived, the sources said.

Srinivasan retired as Deputy SP from the CISF and had been actively involved with the Usha School of Athletics, which has produced several international athletes, including Tinku Luka and Jisna Mathew.

He was a keen sports enthusiast too, and had played a role in Ms. Usha’s comeback to competitive sport at the Asian athletics championship in 1998.

A native of Ponnani in Malappuram district, Srinivasan was a former Kabbadi player and he took initiative in setting up Usha School of Athletics.
