Less than two weeks before he was fatally shot by immigration officers, Alex Pretti was involved in a heated encounter with federal agents, new video circulating online shows.

A Border Patrol agent and a customs officer fatally shot Pretti, 37-year-old ICU nurse, on Jan. 24, amid an immigration enforcement action in a neighborhood just south of downtown Minneapolis. Pretti lived in the city where he worked at a Department of Veterans Affairs medical center.

Video of the earlier encounter, recorded on Jan. 13, shows Pretti apparently yelling at a Ford SUV. As the vehicle begins pulls away, Pretti kicks and breaks one of its rear taillights.

The vehicle then stops and a federal officer jumps out of the backseat. The officer rushes toward Pretti and tackles him. Other officers soon join the scuffle. The officers eventually let go of Pretti, who walks away.

The footage does not include the moments leading up to the altercation.
