Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula each won in straight sets on Day 9 of the 2026 Australian Open to set up an All-American singles quarterfinal.
Four of the eight women's singles finalists are American.
"At least one of his will get through and I think that's great for American tennis," Pegula told reporters Monday in Melbourne. "It's been pretty crazy how well the women have been doing and how many top-ranked girls there are.
"I'm just happy to be a part of that conversation."
