The 2026 Oscar nominations are in — and there are a handful of films and performances that shockingly didn’t make the list. But a few surprising nominations did pop up this year.

Actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman announced the nominees Thursday morning. The big news out of the nominations? “Sinners” made Oscars history by breaking the record for the most nominations for one film, with 16 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
