DMK deputy general secretary and Parliamentary Party leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi on Thursday inspected the preparations for the party’s ‘Vellum Tamil Pengal’ womens’ wing Conference slated for January 26 at Sengipatti near here.

After reviewing the preparations at the venue, the DMK MP said the conference held in the western region was a success which clearly indicated to whom the women’s support was on.

“All over the State, women depend on the DMK. The conference at Thanjavur will reaffirm that women are determined to bring DMK back to power”, she said and added that more than 1.25 lakh women were expected to participate in the conference.

Referring to the AIADMK’s election promises, Ms. Kanimozhi said it announced some schemes but failed to implement it. “They launched a two-wheeler distribution scheme for women by inviting the Prime Minister. Once again the same promise finds a place in their manifesto,” she said.

“On the other hand, the DMK was in alliance with the people. Our alliance will romp home with victory”, she added. Stating that the DMK worried about the future of the AIADMK, she added that the Prime Minister would be frequenting Tamil Nadu till the elections.
