Chris Cuomo on Wednesday told right-wing pundit Scott Jennings to stop acting like a “tough guy,” reacting to his exchange Tuesday on CNN with Parkland High School shooting survivor Cameron Kasky, who had taken issue with his language.
“What are you, a bully now?” Cuomo asked Jennings in a video published on X.
Jennings had been repeatedly referring to undocumented workers as “illegals” during a “NewsNight” panel discussion about the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Minnesota, when Kasky said, “You don’t get to say the word ‘illegals’ anymore.”
Jennings fired back: “Who are you to tell me what I can and can’t say? I’ve never met you, brother. I can say whatever I want. They’re illegal aliens, and that’s what the law calls them, illegal aliens. That’s what I’m going to call them.”
Kasky argued further that the word isn’t even applicable regarding Minnesota “because ICE is directly targeting legal citizens,” as well. That’s when Jennings truly erupted, once again asking on the air why Kasky “gets to instruct” him on how to speak.
