Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai, has launched an emergency wing to handle acute medical emergencies.
The wing was inaugurated by Samay Singh Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), a press release said. Designed for rapid triage and treatment, the wing has specialised facility comprising 18 acute care beds and one dedicated isolation bed, for contagious emergencies.
The department also has on-site diagnostics for real-time assessment to improve turnaround time for critical decision-making. Bharath Kanth Reddy R.Y., CEO, Chennai & Hyderabad Cluster of the hospital; S. Niranjani, COO and hospital head; Sriram R., head, Emergency Medicine, also participated.
