Any notion that the NFL's 2026 coach hiring cycle would be quieter than usual was quickly dispelled when the Baltimore Ravens decided to fire John Harbaugh after 18 seasons.

Following Harbaugh's dismissal, the Miami Dolphins decided to fire Mike McDaniel. Two more coaches have since moved on, with Mike Tomlin stepping down from his post with the Pittsburgh Steelers after their playoff loss to the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills parting with Sean McDermott following his team's divisional-round loss to the Denver Broncos.

All the while, teams across the league have been moving quickly to interview and hire the top candidates on the market. The New York Giants won the Harbaugh sweepstakes while the Atlanta Falcons hired Kevin Stefanski shortly thereafter.

The Dolphins and Tennessee Titans have also now filled their vacancies, with Jeff Hafley joining Miami for his first crack at being an NFL head coach while Robert Saleh is getting a second chance to prove himself in Tennessee.

Six coaching vacancies remain to be filled, and it seems at least a few teams are getting closer to the finish line of their hiring processes.
