Raed al-Saleh, Damascus’s minister of emergency and disaster management, has called on emergency and civil defence workers to continue to do their duties in spite of recent political upheaval in areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces until the ceasefire was signed a short while ago.

“Just yesterday, firefighting teams from Raqqa, Hasakah, and Deir Az Zor joined us in extinguishing the Latakia fires, and today we are working together in Deir Az Zor, Raqqa, and Hasakah to protect lives,” he said in a post on X.
