Harry James thought he’d beaten hair loss. His dad had lost his hair at 21, and James was already turning 26.
James was filming a video of himself when he accidentally dropped something on the floor and bent over to pick it up. When he reviewed the footage later, he caught a glimpse of the top of his head – and something looked off.
"There was just a lighter patch," he recalls. "Once you see it, you can’t unsee it."
For the next half hour, he searched for explanations: bad lighting, camera angles. He felt around his head and took close-up videos of his scalp. But there was no denying it: His hair loss journey had begun.
In the ever-expanding universe of "maxxing" slang – from "fibermaxxing" to "frictionmaxxing" and "looksmaxxing" – there’s a new term circulating: "baldmaxxing."
