Premier Giorgia Meloni on Friday denied having any ambitions to become Italian president.
"What I'm doing is enough for me, and I'm passionate about it," she said at her start-of-the-year press conference.
"Whether I'll do it again" in the next legislature "will depend on the Italians' vote." Meloni explained that she doesn't aspire to "rise to the next level." "My level is enough for me," she concluded.
There has been speculation that Italy's first woman premier might try to become the country's first female president once her term, or terms, as prime minister end.
