Skip to Main ContentThe ICE Shooting In Minneapolis Is Eerily Similar To A 2025 Killing In Chicago SuburbWhile federal immigration officers have shot at least nine people in the last four months alone, at least one of those cases resulted in agents killing the person in their vehicle – just like Wednesday's fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis. As part of ICE's "Operation Midway Blitz" campaign in Chicago, immigration agents fatally shot Silverio Villegas Gonzalez less than a minute after pulling him over Sept. 12 in suburban Franklin Park. Both Good and Villegas Gonzalez were trying to flee in their cars when they were respectively shot and killed by ICE. Agents in both cases claimed they shot in self-defense, accusing the drivers of trying to run their vehicles into them. Footage of both shootings contradict ICE's claims.Good and Villegas Gonzalez were about the same age, with children and allegedly no criminal history. The main difference between the two: Villegas Gonzalez was an undocumented Mexican immigrant.See All UpdatesClose
