Police in south zone have arrested five persons from Madurai, Theni and Thoothukudi districts and seized five litres of hashish oil and 18 kg of ganja.
According to police, Vadipatti police in Madurai district apprehended an accused, Manikuyil, and seized 6 kg of ganja based on specific intelligence inputs, a statement said.
Meanwhile, Kadamalaigundu police in Theni district, arrested two accused, Pandi and Ramesh, and recovered 12 kg of ganja.
Further, Thalamuthu Nagar police in Thoothukudi district, arrested two accused, Rajesh and Francis, and seized 5 litres of hashish oil.
The seized hashish oil is estimated to be worth over ₹1 crore in the illicit market.
