Jan. 5 (UPI) -- The Las Vegas Raiders fired head coach Pete Carroll at the end of his first season, they announced Monday.
Carroll's Raiders went 3-14, which tied for the worst record in the NFL. The 2025-26 Raiders scored the fewest points and totaled the fewest yards in the league.
Carroll, 74, was the oldest active head coach in the league.
"We appreciate and wish him and his family all the best," Raiders owner Mark Davis said in a news release. "Moving forward, general manager John Spytek will lead all football operations in close collaboration with [minority owner] Tom Brady, including the search for the club's next head coach.
"Together, they will guide football decisions with a shared focus on leadership, culture, and alignment with the organization's long-term vision and goals."
