Telangana Government has accelerated steps to deploy infrastructure and equipment in the Government run hospitals and medical institutions in a big way.

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha told the Legislative Assembly that 485 new ventilators worth ₹58 crore were under procurement and they would be installed in different hospitals before February end. The Government made assessment of requisite equipment in tertiary hospitals in line with the norms of National Medical Council and they were under procurement stage.

Eight new MRI machines

Accordingly, steps were initiated to procure eight new MRI machines with ₹192 crore for installation in six different hospitals across the State in addition to Osmania and Gandhi hospitals before the financial year end. Eight CT machines worth ₹60 crore were also scheduled for installation by the same period. An additional LINAC machine worth ₹32 crore for treatment of cancer patients and Brachytherapy machines worth ₹8 crore were under procurement for NIMS where equipment worth ₹18 crore had been installed in the neurosurgery department in 2025. This was in addition to 15 ventilators which were under procurement stage.
