Delhi University’s (DU) North Campus will get its first ‘Pink Booth’ – a police booth staffed by female officers – at Miranda House on Monday, an official said on Sunday.

Raja Banthia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North, said, “Most of the officers deployed will be female, making it easier for female students to register complaints. However, the facility will remain open to everyone.”

In addition to the Pink Booth, an ‘Integrated Police Booth’ will be set up at Gate No. 4 of the North Campus to enhance security.

The booth would serve as a key vantage point for police monitoring, the DCP said.

Functioning as a ‘mini control room’, the Integrated Police Booth enables police to monitor all site activities through CCTV cameras.
