A new dialysis centre was inaugurated at Seethalakshmi Urban Primary Health Centre in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore, on Saturday (January 3, 2026), to provide affordable treatment for patients from economically weaker sections. The event was attended by Coimbatore MP Ganapathi P. Rajkumar, Mayor K. Ranganayaki, and Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran.

The centre was established at ₹2.5 crore by the Coimbatore Corporation in collaboration with the Rotary Coimbatore Ikons and TANKER Foundation. It will offer dialysis sessions at ₹375 per treatment. Patients holding State or Central government health insurance cards will receive the services free of charge.

Spread across 3,000 sq. ft., the facility is equipped with 10 dialysis beds. The centre can accommodate 20 patients a day across two daily shifts. Operations are scheduled to begin after 19 January, with service hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
