It is clear that something went wrong with the safety provisions at the bar at the Swiss Alpine resort of Crans-Montana that was engulfed by flames in a tragedy that has killed dozens of young people who were ringing in the New Year, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said after visiting the scene Friday.

"It seems senseless to me to set off fireworks indoors.

Evidently somehting went wrong in safety terms," said Tajani, who is also deputy Premier, while speaking to reporters outside the Constellation Bar "The disaster leads me to believe that something went wrong," he emphasized.
