Tragedy has struck the small Dolomites on the Vajo Gabene in Recoaro (Vicenza), where a ski mountaineer lost his life after being caught in an avalanche.
The 50-year-old was reached by the Recoaro mountain rescue team with a helicopter from Treviso, but there was nothing that could be done for him.
The injuries sustained in the avalanche were too serious.
