An awareness motorcycle rally was organised jointly by the Police, Transport and Medical and Health Departments from Suryabaugh to the RTC Complex here on Tuesday, on the eve of Road Safety Awareness Month.
Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi flagged off the rally. Participants, carrying placards with messages such as ‘Don’t drink and drive’ and ‘Wear helmet’, and raising slogans on road safety, drew the attention of passers-by and motorists along the route.
ADCP Traffic Praveen Kumar, III Town CI Ammi Naidu, Deputy Transport Commissioner R.C.H. Srinivas, MVIs Butchi Raju and Ganesh Reddy took part in the rally. Officials said road safety awareness programmes would be conducted throughout January 2026.
