Awolf is roaming the hills of Bologna, the City Council announced Wednesday.
Citing numerous reports and sightings in the Villa Ghigi park area, Mayor Matteo Lepore issued an ordinance "to avoid discomfort or potential interactions with the animal." Residents who frequent the hills are "prohibited," it states, "from depositing waste and food, which may attract wolves, outside designated containers." Dogs must be kept on a leash, and feeding pets in open, unprotected areas or outside homes is prohibited.
If you spot a wolf, the ordinance said, notify the Carabinieri Forestali or the local police of the Metropolitan City of Bologna.
