The four-day Winter Session of the Delhi Assembly beginning on Monday is expected to be stormy as the Rekha Gupta-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government will table a Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report on the renovation of the official bungalow, which the BJP often refers to as ‘Sheesh Mahal’, of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

Two other CAG reports on the functioning of the Delhi Jal Board and State-run universities during AAP rule will also be tabled, Law Minister Kapil Mishra announced on Tuesday. Mr. Mishra said the Assembly will also discuss air pollution in Delhi and the previous government’s “shortcomings in controlling it”.

“The Delhi government will introduce a resolution on the environment and pollution, and all members will take part in the discussion. We will discuss the causes of Delhi’s current pollution, affidavits submitted by previous governments to the Supreme Court, scientific reports, and the responsibility of earlier governments,” said Mr. Mishra. The Law Minister asked AAP to present in the Assembly the work its government did in 10 years to reduce pollution.

The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Delhi Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026. As per the Chief Minister’s Office, it aims to simplify compliance, decriminalise minor violations, reduce the burden on courts, and improve efficiency.
