Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh on Monday ordered the suspension of three police inspectors following a massive drug seizure carried out by inter-State agencies.
The inspectors are accused of failing to prevent the storage of a huge quantity of narcotic drugs in their respective jurisdictions.
The suspensions were ordered on the grounds of negligence, with the Commissioner stating that the officers failed to gather actionable intelligence despite the ‘Mane Manege Police’ initiative and the city police’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
The disciplinary action followed a high-profile operation led by the Maharashtra Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), in coordination with the Bengaluru Police and the Narcotics Control Department, which resulted in the seizure of a large drug consignment.
The suspended officers are inspectors attached to the Kothanur police station, Avalahalli police station, and Bagalur police station.
