A private van running on LPG caught fire in the middle of the Thatchanallur-Tirunelveli road on Monday.
The police said Sheikh Ali from Tirunelveli town had rented the van for his business purposes. While he was on his way to an LPG fuel station near Thatchanallur, the vehicle suddenly malfunctioned and caught fire. However, Sheikh Ali escaped from the vehicle unscathed. The Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Tirunelveli rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
