Three men were killed late on Saturday after the motorcycle they were riding on crashed into an under-construction culvert on National Highway-161B near the Nizampet mandal headquarters in Sangareddy district.
The deceased were identified as Avuti Narasimhulu (27), Jinna Mallesh (24), and Jinna Mahesh (23), all close relatives and residents of the area. Police said the trio was travelling on a single motorcycle when the accident occurred.
According to an officer from Narayankhed police station, road widening works were underway on the stretch, and proper signages had been installed near the culvert. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be established, and police said it was not immediately clear whether the riders were under the influence of alcohol.
A case has been registered, and the bodies were shifted to government hospital in Narayankhed for postmortem examination. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the crash.
