Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh on Friday held a coordination meeting with owners of event venues across the city. The attendees of the meeting include owners of pubs, bars, clubs, hotels, and restaurants.

The meeting, held at the Commissioner’s office, focused on ensuring public safety, law and order, and strict compliance with rules during celebrations on December 31.

The Commissioner emphasised that all organisers must obtain mandatory permissions from concerned authorities and adhere to the conditions laid down. Prescribed timings for New Year events must be strictly followed, and separate permission is required for the use of sound systems, with noise levels not exceeding permissible limits.

Venue owners were instructed to issue entry tickets strictly as per approved capacity and ensure that alcohol is not served to minors under any circumstances. For security, thorough screening of all entrants was made compulsory, with directions to immediately report any suspicious individuals or objects to the police.

Fire safety equipment must be installed without fail, along with measures to prevent stampedes. Organisers were also told to ensure adequate backup power arrangements to handle any power outages during events.
