The Coordination Committee of All Farmers’ Associations of Tamil Nadu has urged the Tamil Nadu government to re-examine its anti-farmer policies.
Addressing the media at Mannargudi on December 24, the Committee president P.R.Pandian said that putting the protesting farmers behind the bars was not acceptable. It has been decided to hold a meeting at Mannargudi later this week to discuss the modalities to raise this issue at the national level. The Samyuktha Kisan Morcha leaders have agreed to attend the meeting, he added.
Condemning the Kancheepuram District Collector’s action of speeding up the land acquisition process for setting up the airport at Parandur in Kancheepuram district, he urged the State government to disclose more details about the government order issued for merging of various branches of Agriculture Department.
