To liven up the first days of winter or to decorate the table during the holidays, these five varieties – whether in pots or bouquets – make wonderful gift ideas.
Amaryllis: a flower ready for winter
The amaryllis. ANNABELLE TIAFFAY FOR M LE MAGAZINE DU MONDE
Amaryllis is one of the most popular flowers sold in Sweden in November and December. Its large stems can grow as tall as 90 centimeters. They can be skillfully trimmed to create floral arrangements in twisted ribbon shapes, reminiscent of Christmas gifts. Christoffers Blommor, a florist in Stockholm, also turns them into low bouquets and table centerpieces. He is bold with color: "Don't be afraid to mix reds, pinks, and stripes," he said. "The bouquet then looks like a big bowl of candy. Flowers are meant to be fun."
