Dec. 23 (UPI) -- The Powerball prize climbed to $1.7 billion Wednesday, one of the biggest jackpots in the game's history.

The Powerball's estimated $1.7 billion is up for grabs in Wednesday's Christmas Eve drawing after no ticket matched all numbers Monday.

Monday's numbers were 3, 18, 36, 41 and 54 with a Powerball of 7 and a 2x Power Play.

Meanwhile, the chance of hitting the jackpot is about 1 in 292.2 million.

Powerball jackpot winners may take either a single lump-sum payout or an annuity, which starts with an initial payment and then 29 yearly installments that rise by 5% each year.
