Dec. 22 (UPI) -- George Conway, a former conservative lawyer who became a critic of President Donald Trump, filed paperwork Monday to run for the U.S. House representing New York City as a Democrat.
Conway, 62, hasn't publicly launched a campaign, but the paperwork with the Federal Election Commission says he will run in the 12th Congressional District. He listed an apartment complex on 10th Avenue as his residence.
U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler, 78, isn't running for re-election after serving the heavily Democratic district in Manhattan for 34 years.
The open seat has drawn several candidates, including Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy; former Merrill Lynch managing director Alan Pardee; state Assembly members Micah Lasher and Alex Bores; gun safety activist Cameron Kasky; and Jami Floyd, a journalist and former White House fellow in the Clinton administration.
