Nicki Minaj suffered an inappropriate blunder while appearing as a surprise guest during a Q&A at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Arizona on Sunday alongside Erika Kirk.

The awkward moment happened after Kirk asked Minaj (who has become increasingly supportive online of the Trump administration in recent months) to share a message to the young men in the audience.

In response, the “Everybody” musician took aim at California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) while warning young men not to be like “Newscum,” referring to President Donald Trump’s insulting nickname for the governor.

“Young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome dashing president,” Minaj said. “And you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president.”

Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, soon realized she made a major faux pas by mentioning the word “assassin” in front of Erika Kirk, the wife of the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
