The Principal Sessions Court convicted and sentenced a 34-year-old man to life imprisonment for the murder of his father two years ago over a property dispute in Rajamangalam.
According to police, Madhusudhanan (60) was residing at 6th Street, Rajamangalam. His elder son, George Bush, had been frequently threatening him, demanding that the property be partitioned. On the evening of March 19, 2024, while Madhusudhanan was at home, his son George Bush came to the house and picked up a quarrel with him, asking him to divide the property. During the argument, George Bush picked up an iron rod from the house, assaulted Madhusudhanan, and then threw a gas cylinder at him before fleeing the scene.
A short while later, the medical team of a 108 ambulance arrived and, upon examining Madhusudhanan, declared him dead. Based on a complaint lodged by Madhusudhanan’s daughter-in-law Sanjana at the Rajamangalam Police Station, a case was registered under the murder section. The accused, George Bush (32) of Villivakkam was arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The arrested accused, George Bush, is a history-sheeter of the Rajamangalam Police Station.
The trial was conducted at the Principal Sessions Court located in the High Court complex. After completion of the trial, the charges against George Bush were proved. On December 18, 2025, the judge pronounced the verdict, sentencing the convict George Bush to life imprisonment and a fine of ₹5,000, with an additional six months of imprisonment in default of payment of the fine.
