A Delhi court on Saturday (December 20, 2025) framed charges against Sakariya Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai accused for attacking Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during Jan Sunwai in August this year. His alleged aide, Tehsin Raza will also face trial.
Additional Session Judge Ekta Gauba Mann of Tis Hazari Court ordered framing of charges against the two. They were under various sections for attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, and obstruction of public servants.
Delhi Police Files 400-page charge sheet against man accused of attacking Delhi Chief Minister
According to police, Ms. Gupta was attacked by accused Mr. Khimjibhai on August 20 during public hearing at her official residence in Civil Lines. She received injuries on her head i.e. temporal region and there was a nasal bleed and lip injury, CM’s medical report stated.
Police took the accused in custody immediately after the attack.
