Stella Maris College launched a structured, student-centred support network to empower economically disadvantaged students at an event organised to honour Chandrika Tandon, business leader, philanthropist, and Grammy-nominated artist. The event was part of the 150-year celebrations of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), which runs Stella Maris College and Holy Angels Convent, the school where Ms. Tandon studied.
Named Pragati, the network would focus on academic support, mentoring, financial assistance, skill development, and personal growth of students to ensure that nobody is left behind due to economic or social barriers, according to a press release.
The principals of Holy Angels Convent and Stella Maris College felicitated Ms. Tandon, highlighting her journey from Chennai to the global stage and her enduring dedication to education and the institutions that shaped her.
