The Kannada Studies Institute of Gulbarga University, in association with Dr. Besagarahalli Ramanna Pratishtana, Bengaluru, will organise a literary workshop titled ‘Shantarasa’s Literary World’ on the university campus on Saturday.
The workshop will be held at the Harihara Auditorium of Gulbarga University at 10 a.m. Short story writer Amaresh Nugadoni from Hosapet will inaugurate the programme. The inaugural session will be presided over by H.R. Sujatha, president of the Dr. Besagarahalli Ramanna Pratishtana.
Director of the Kannada Studies Institute, Gulbarga University H.T. Potte and theatre personality H.S. Basavaprabhu from Kalaburagi will participate as chief guests.
As part of the workshop, the first technical session will be held from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., during which researcher K. Ravindranath from Hosapet will speak on research and book editing, while critic Shreeshail Nagaral will deliver a lecture on prose literature.
The second session, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., will have a critic Shailaja Bagewadi speaking on the portrayal of women in literature, writer Mahantesh Navalakal on the world of poetry, and translator Suryakant Sujata on translation literature.
