The 10th edition of Mysuru Literature Festival will be held at Hotel Southern Star in Mysuru on July 4 and 5.Addressing a press conference here on Monday, founder and director of the festival Shubha Sanjay Urs said the tenth edition of the Mysuru Literature Festival would feature some of India’s most distinguished voices from literature, history, journalism, business, science, diplomacy, cinema, music and the arts.“Over two days, the festival will bring together celebrated authors, scholars, journalists, entrepreneurs and creative thinkers for conversations that reflect the many ways in which literature intersects with contemporary life,” said a press statement.The festival will be inaugurated by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of the erstwhile royal family of Mysore, with author and former diplomat Amish Tripathi and author and entrepreneur Aroon Raman as the Guests of Honour.While eight books will be released during the festival, Padmashri awardee Anke Gowda from Pandavapura, a renowned book collector, and M.M. Nikhilesh of Kalisu Foundation will be felicitated on the occasion.“Mythology, history and India’s civilisational traditions form an important strand of this year’s festival,” the statement said pointing out that author Shatavadhani Ganesh would explore the ‘enduring appeal of our epics in Pouranic Fantasies and Divine Superheroes’ while Mr. Tripathi joins Mr. Raman to revisit mythology through a contemporary lens.Business, leadership and public life find compelling expression through conversations with some of India’s most respected voices. Harish Bhat and Bhaskar Bhat revisit the values and leadership philosophy that shaped the Tata Group in ‘For the Love of India-Leadership Lessons from the Tata Group’, while aviation pioneer Capt. G.R. Gopinath joins journalist Shankar Bellur in ‘Flights of Contemplation: A Bird’s Eye View of the Nation in Flux’, reflecting on a rapidly changing India through the lens of enterprise, governance and public life.Science, technology and curiosity take centre stage in ‘The Science that Refuses to Behave’, bringing together Upasana Sarraju, Kollegala Sharma and Mahima Jain for a conversation on scientific inquiry and communication. The growing influence of artificial intelligence is explored in ‘The Human Prompt: Reading, Writing and Wonder in the Age of AI’ with Adarsh Sudhindra and Ajay Pramod.“Music, cinema and performance complete the festival experience. Song from the South celebrates music, language and culture with Sumana Chandrashekar, Sharath R. Rao and Jyothsna Hebbar, while actor Kubbra Sait, Trish Joudrey and Tabeenah Anjum conclude the festival with a conversation on performance, storytelling and the many roles an artist inhabits on and off screen,” the statement said.The festival will also feature a documentary screening of ‘River of Life’, followed by an interaction with noted wildlife conservationist, Sanjay Gubbi.
