The Tamil Nadu Anna University Teachers Association (TANUTA) on Wednesday initiated a protest across all Anna University constituent colleges in Kancheepuram, Arni, Coimbatore, Tindivanam, Panruti, Tiruchi, Thirukkuvalai, and Pattukottai.

According to a press release, the demonstration was held to draw the attention of the State government and the university administration to long-pending and unresolved issues affecting the teaching faculty and the quality of higher education in Tamil Nadu.

Completion of the absorption process, Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) benefits pending since 2009, and release of increments to Ph.D./ M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Pharm/ M.Phil candidates were among the issues raised by the association.
