Around 19.27 million Italians will take a vacation between Christmas, the New Year and the Epiphany national holiday, according to a Tecnè survey for hoteliers association Federalberghi released on Wednesday.
It said 7.86 million will take a trip over Christmas, 4.5 million will be away from home for New Year's Eve and 990,000 will be on holiday over the Epiphany.
It said 5.87 million Italians will take a "long vacation," covering at least two of those holidays.
It said 91% of the festive holidaymakers will stay in Italy.
