Dec. 16 (UPI) -- The Boston Bruins held a moment of silence Tuesday night before their home game against the Utah Mammoth to honor the lives lost over the weekend in two shootings, one at Brown University in Rhode Island and one at Bondi Beach, Australia.
"The Boston Bruins and the Providence Bruins share a special bond with the state of Rhode Island and are left heartbroken by the events that transpired on Saturday," Jake Zimmer, the public address announcer for the Boston Bruins at TD Garden, said ahead of the moment of silence.
"Our heartfelt sympathies also extend out to all of those in Bondi Beach as well as the entire Jewish community."
