An unexpected passenger snuck onboard a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Aruba on Dec. 10: a rat.

According to footage from Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf, a rat appeared from the overhead bins and crawled behind a curtain in the cabin while KLM flight 767 was en route to the Caribbean island.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines confirmed the onboard rat to USA TODAY. "This was a very exceptional incident," the airline said in a statement.

KLM told RTL Nieuws it's not clear how the stowaway rodent snuck onto the plane, but that the flight crew kept an eye on it until landing in Aruba.
