A White House holiday party on Monday doubled as an engagement announcement for Donald Trump Jr. and Florida socialite Bettina Anderson.
Donald Trump announced the couple’s romantic milestone, reported The New York Times.
“Not often that I’m at a loss for words because we usually do the ranting and raving really well, but this is a little different,” Trump Jr., the eldest of the president’s children, said in a video from the event that was shared online by far-right Trump ally Laura Loomer.
“I just want to wish all of you guys an incredible holiday season, a merry Christmas, a very happy new year, and to thank Bettina for that one word: ‘Yes,’” he continued. “You go down there and it’s like you’re gonna go and you’re trying to ask and you’re not sure what the answer’s going to be. It’s always a little bit rough. But she said yes, that’s a big win for the end of the year.”
Trump Jr., who runs The Trump Organization family business with his younger brother Eric Trump when he’s not podcasting, attempting to troll with political memes or hunting, then invited his new fiancée to speak.
