Dec. 15 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar said immigration officials confronted her U.S.-born son Saturday, allegedly targeting him after he made a stop at a Target store.
According to Omar, D-Minn., the police stopped her adult son, but once he showed his passport, they let him continue on his way.
"Yesterday after, he made a stop at Target, he did get pulled over by ICE agents and once he was able to produce his passport ID they did let him go," she said Sunday.
Omar said her son always carries his passport over fears of ICE encounters.
Tensions, meanwhile, have risen between Omar and U.S. President Donald Trump over Minnesota's sizable Somali community.
