Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar said Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulled over her son Saturday and asked him to prove he was a citizen.

"Yesterday, after he made a stop at Target, he did get pulled over by [ICE] agents, and once he was able to produce his passport ID, they did let him go," Omar told local outlet WCCO in a Sunday interview.

ICE agents recently ramped up their activity in Minneapolis and St. Paul to target Somali immigrants amid vicious attacks by President Donald Trump. Omar, who was born in Somalia, told WCCO that she reminded her son how worried she is because ICE is "racially profiling" and "looking for young men who look Somali that they think are undocumented."
