RIYADH: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language launched its World Arabic Language Day celebrations at the UN headquarters in New York, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The event, held from Dec. 2-4 and sponsored by Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, reflects the Kingdom’s leading role in supporting Arabic and strengthening its status as an official UN language.
Organized in partnership with the Kingdom’s permanent mission to the UN, the celebration featured cultural and interactive programs showcasing the beauty, history and global influence of Arabic.
The program included dialogue sessions on the language’s role in international organizations and cultural exchange, an exhibition introducing the academy’s projects, and a display of Arabic-related handicrafts.
The opening event, attended by senior UN officials and member state representatives, aligns with Vision 2030’s goals to support cultural identity and promote intercultural understanding.
