RIYADH: The eighth Joint Archeological Exhibition of the Arab Gulf States opened on Monday at the National Museum in Riyadh and runs until Dec. 30. The exhibition traces the region’s history from the Stone Age and the discovery of metals in the third millennium B.C. to the pre-Islamic era and its pivotal role in the Islamic world, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Titled “Civilizational Unity and Cultural Diversity,” the event showcases artifacts including stone tools, pottery, inscriptions, art, architecture, and jewelry.
