RIYADH: Jordan’s exports to the EU climbed 39.3 percent in the first nine months of 2025, driven by stronger demand for clothing, fertilizers and chemical products, official data showed.
Export values reached 436 million Jordanian dinars ($614.9 million), compared to 313 million dinars during the same period of 2024, with Italy emerging as the leading EU destination for Jordanian goods, the country’s news agency, Petra, reported, citing data from the Department of Statistics.
Jordan’s strengthening EU shipments mirror broader trade momentum, with total exports up 8.9 percent in the first nine months of 2025 — driven by a 9.1 percent rise in national exports and a 6.5 percent increase in re-exports. Imports grew 7 percent, widening the trade deficit by 5 percent.
Mohammad Samadi, a member of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, told Petra that the marked growth in exports reflects the improved competitiveness of Jordanian products and their ability to penetrate new European markets.
According to the Petra report: “He said the European market remains a key avenue for Jordanian trade, with strong demand for products such as clothing, fertilizers, and chemical goods.”
