ABU DHABI: Emirati fighters are celebrating success in both the seniors’ and masters’ divisions of the WAKO World Kickboxing Championship.

Organized by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation at ADNEC Abu Dhabi, the event was held over six days and saw 2,000 athletes from 150 countries, representing five continents, taking part.
It is the first year the championship has been held outside Europe and in the Middle East.
The UAE’s national team claimed a total of 25 medals — nine gold, seven silver and nine bronze, representing the country’s best result in its world championship history.
