As many as 430 children from 10 children’s care and protection centres in and around Mangaluru had an eventful day at the 25th Chinnara Utsava, organised by the Rotary Club of Mangaluru Central and Rotaract Club of Mangaluru city here on November 30.

It was a platform for them to showcase their hidden skills in sports and natural talents in cultural events. All the guests and spectators noticed the excitement and happiness on the childrens’ faces.

At the one-day event, children presented a colourful march-past. Later, they actively participated in sports and cultural competitions.

Inaugurating the event, music director Gurukiran lauded the community development service projects of the Rotary, which provided a suitable platform and equal opportunity to children to showcase their skills and talents, thereby eliminating social inequality. He said service to humanity is service to God and entertained the children by singing a song from Kannada film Apthamitra.
