SEOUL, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Major South Korean conglomerates tend to announce top executive reshuffles of their units at the end of the year, and No. 4 player LG Group followed that pattern this week.
Tech giant LG Electronics named Lyu Jae-cheol as its new chief executive officer, while LG Chem promoted Kim Dong-chun to the top post at the chemical powerhouse.
Both are long-term internal leaders, who have built their entire careers within the two corporations over the past three decades.
A Seoul National University-trained mechanical engineer with an MBA from the University of Illinois, Lyu joined the precursor to LG Electronics in 1989 as a researcher. Since 2021, he has headed the company's home appliance business.
