DUBAI: Here is the first half of our rundown of the films in competition at this year’s Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, which runs from Dec. 4-13. ‘Yunan’ Director: Ameer Fakher Eldin Starring: George Khabbaz, Hanna Schygulla, Ali Suliman The second in Syrian filmmaker Fakher Eldin’s intended trilogy about exile follows Munir, a Syrian writer living in Germany troubled by the mental burden of his displacement. He travels to some remote low-lying islands, where he contemplates suicide.
